not all scars show, not all wounds heal. sometimes you can't always see the pain someone feels...

We watch the sun drift by
As it puts an end to our perfect day
The pure white light reflects off the roof tops
And we lay there on the grass
In the shade of the old willow tree
Where we first met
Behind the homes we grew up in.
As the light dies out
She turns to me and I close my eyes
With tears in my eyes I say I’m leaving
That I’m moving far away
And won’t be coming back
She lays there and says she knows
I turn away
She grabs me before I could get up
As the orange sky fades to black
Our lips locked one last time
Tears ran down her cheeks
I stared into her deep brown eyes
As she stared right back into mine
Words seemed insignificant
Time seemed to stop for that one moment
I wished it could have lasted forever
That I could stay and hold her in my arms
But reality took hold of me once again
We got up
I held her in my arms one last time
And I walked away
Away from the spot where we first me
Away from my first love
Leaving her under the old willow tree
Were we watched our last sunset…
