The Color Blue

The color that we long for
as summer approaches.
A reflection of the water
that the vast blue sky coaches.

The color that soothes,
while the teal blue-jay smoothes
the open skies of blues,
which eventually will fuse
into the land under your shoes

A peaceful sensation,
that represents hydration.

Blue is an excessive blanket
on this tremendous planet,
stretching from oceans to skies.

So i can't help but question,
why the world isn't a peaceful creation,
if the color blue is.

My poem was inspired by the imagery and frequent enjambment used by the famous poet, Amy Lowell.
