Kill Them With Kindness

All too familiar
We walk the path
Into the woods
The dark unknown
Shade creeps over us
And creates a cool blanket
Tall trees sway
Waving us hello
Crunch of leaves
Welcoming us back
Silence all around
A shield from the outside world
But this isn’t the outside world
In here things aren’t the same
This place is different
The madness vanishes
Because back in reality
Many live in fear
In the real world
Some kids live without parents
No one to hold them
With love and care
An old man finds comfort
In a cardboard box
Millions shed tears
And thousands don’t care
A gun is shot, deafening and scary
But they turn their heads away
Here in this place
All of that disappears
No fears or sadness
Just the silent shielddddd
So we walk father
Forgetting the past
