“It seems as though your eyes had flown away”(Pablo Neruda)
As if your gaze was lost, trapped in a life of the past
You didn’t see me for the person I am but for who I was
The hurt that I caused you in retrospect defined me now
It seems as though your mind had moved on but your perspective was stuck
What you saw physically brought you back, reminded you of your pain
Reminded you of my potential to destroy, to destroy us
Your eyes have flown away and with it goes my apology
For not realizing that their was nothing wrong with what we had
