Boredom

Sitting in my desk
Finishing my test
Trying my best
Not to let my mind wander
But I begin to ponder
Of what is happening in the yonder
Visualizing vast cities of New York
To any other place in the world
It makes my mind swirl
and I begin to spiral out of reality
The whole time I hear my friend calling me
I open my eyes to a world of fantasy
Where I know everyone and everyone knows me
A perfect world where everything happens at the correct time
All in this little world of mine
This little world by my mind
Then I flash back to my class, still in front of the chalk board
This is what happens whenever I am bored

The author's comments:
This poem is my way of explaining what happens whenever I become bored and lose focus. I wasn't inspired, but I was encouraged by my friends.
