Behind the makeup and the pretty smiles
lies and broken promises, the words he said
that have no meaning now
who knew a boy could build her up
and break her down
every time he held her close or said I love you
she would give up everything she had
just to whisper that lie one more time
because that's what you do when you love someone
even if the one she loves is the one that hurt her the most
