All Dreams End

Your love was a whisper
Trailing wisps of dreams through my soul
My heartbeat, all aflutter,
Kept me warm in winter's cold
Though I did not understand
Why you chose me, above all
Your answer was always, "Why not?"
In a drawl

Your lullaby of desires
Sang me to sleep each night
I wish you were still
A part of my life
"Goodnight, my darling."
You would say with care
I cannot believe
Why you're not still there

Lightning bugs fly
Golden and silver
Storming the skies
Clouds darken in shivers
The sunlight overhead
Runs out of time
Though this happens
Only in my mind

I see just darkness
A terrible sensation
I feel no happiness
No more elation
And all because
You left me then
This nightmare is the now
That dream was the end

I like this poem. I love your choice of word, it shows a sort of blossoming talent and really act as a window to show us your feelings.

And, could you please do me a favor and tell me how long it takes before the editors accept/decline work? And if they DO decline it, will they notify me?

I don't really know. I've only been a member for the past couple of months. For my work, it's taken anywhere from 5 to 20 days or so. I'm not sure if they'll notify you upon declining, as none of mine has been declined so far, but I assume that they would let you know.

Your word choice/phrases is also very good----storming the skies, lullaby of desires, clouds darken in shivers.

The lightning bugs fly stanza is also pretty sweet! This is a very good poem.
