Trumpets blasting,
the effect is everlasting.
The drums keep the pace,
with a little help from the bass.

The people are dancing,
the couples are romancing.
Feet pounding,
the effect is astounding.

My hair's flying,
your smile is undying.
I do a twirl,
and close my eyes as the world whirls.
You pull me back and hold me close,
swaying as the rhythm flows.

Suddenly, we're moving again,
adrenalin coursing through our veins.
But, the song is coming to a close,
and everyone knows.

The music stops,
most couples drop.
We slow down, not wanting to quit,
not wanting to split.

There's only the sound of clapping now.
All we can do is step back and take a bow.
