Favorite Quote:
The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to his (or her) commitment to excellence, regardless of his (or her) chosen field of endeavor.

Keep pushing forward.
Sacrifice everything.
Forget the voices around you.
Feel the darkness around you, pulsing.

Engulfing you.

Swallowing you.
Down a sick, pestilent gullet
in one desperate move to prove you exist

Too late now
Cold steel in your hand, chilling a hardened heart
Strike it and you would feel a bruise spread across your fingers.

Too late as you cross halls
seeing faces, blurry faces, foreign faces.
The walls are closing in,

doors shutting,

windows slamming,

Raise your arm…

…and ignite the Chaos

Columbine

The author's comments:
We watched a documentary on the Columbine tragedy in my Journalism class. It struck me and stuck with me. These feelings, plus P.O.D.'s "Youth of a Nation" engendered this poem. Another good song to listen to while comtemplating this event is "Young" by Hollywood Undead.

I have new work coming out every week. Yaay.

I agree with Sierra, the imagery was tense, chaotic, and very emotional. I enjoyed this.

This touched me so deeply.  It brought me back, immediately, to the sadness of that hollow day.  You're a gifted writer.

Intense description of emotional desperation. Nicely done!
