Forever More
I have seen through weary eyes
And I have watched
As the years go by.
Memories stay with me
Never letting go
Not ever, ever letting me sleep.
The rest that I need, crave like the taste of sweet, sinful chocolate
To pass my lips, ease my mind
Maybe control my thoughts for just a while longer
A safe haven, my personal sanctuary
Made by caring minds, loving hands
It may justify actions taken, courses delayed.
Have you said your farewells?
Have you yet to show any remorse?
Thought not, you thought wrong.
We should've both listened to them.
The signs, we should have noticed
Taken heed, saved ourselves from this oblivion
But it's too late to change, to correct all the mistakes
As I look up into the night sky
And watch life go, with these weary eyes of mine.
