Under the Tree
Let’s just sit and talk for a while
And forget our worries
There’s nothing else
But you and me and the fading day
Tomorrow isn’t for a while yet
Let’s pass the time
With stupid, random chatter
That we won’t remember in the morning
And stupid, random jokes
That we’ll remember for the rest of our lives
Let’s just sit and talk
For a while
And when we’ve run out of things to say,
We’ll watch the stars shift through the sky
As the orange haze swirls around the city below
And listen to crickets that just won’t be quiet
Tomorrow can wait
