I Still Ask Why

WHY
I’ve always wondered why you wouldn’t give me a chance.
If I were to cross your path would you even spare me a passing glance?
I strive to be as perfect as possible.
Although I know that you being a part of my life isn’t probable.
I’ve wished time and time again I could change you.
But all you wanted was to be a dad somewhere new.
All I want is to know why.
Why wasn’t I good enough?
Did you even think about how for me, this would be rough?
At least your new loved ones won’t do without.
But I hope you know I still ask why with doubt.
