I Understand, You Don't

You told me that you loved me.

I believed you.

Now you tell me you're sorry,

But I don't believe you.

If you were truly sorry,

You wouldn't be smiling at a sight over my shoulder.

No.

How could you be sorry?

You don't know what it feels like,

To give someone,

Everything you've got.

To tell someone,

Every thought you've thought,

To trust someone,

With everything you've got.

Instead of saying this though,

I just nod and say that it's ok.

That I understand.

You sighed and said,

That you knew I'd understand.

But I don't.

I don't understand!

I don't understand,

Where all that love,

You've been showing me,

Has gone.

And then I see her,

You hold her like she's everything,

You look at her,

Like she's the most amazing,

Thing in the world.

Its the same way you use to hold me,

The same way you use to look at me.

And now I understand.

That love didn't disappear,

No, that love you had for me,

Has just transferred to her.

I give a small smile and nod,

And turn away,

Before the tears reveal,

Just how much,

Pain you've caused me.

And now it's you who doesn't understand.

Cause that's just the way it is,

I Understand, You Don't
