Why Go?
I am forever questioning why,
Why did you do the things you did.
What would make you hurt yourself,
Hurt yourself enough to hurt us?
When you did it, things were never the same.
Grandma got angry,
Your sisters got mean.
I hated you and that made me hate myself.
You did not come home,
You stayed and did your thing.
We were never the same.
When she heard the news that you weren’t coming home,
She knew something was wrong.
She tried and tried but you said no.
The holidays are rough but were doing ok.
Knowing that you’re up there,
We can find some sort of peace.
You knew that it was your time and we finally understand.
