Dying Flower
a soft fragrance
  a happy tone
  sun always reaching
  every row
row and row of endless flowers
  but it constantly misses one

  one is left out
saved for a dark black corner
  its body soon droops
  its petals will fall
  it soon is dried out
  from head to toe

  but no one ever cares
  to tend to it
for no one has ever noticed

so the happy sounds of day
and the light of the giving sun
  drift away
into a cold and dark night

you can feel something different in the air
you know a tragedy is about to explode
in this sad and lonely night

  the flower
only has one petal left to shed
and as the dark night proceeds
  darkness and shadows
  will consume
  all that is left

 I smile
 But my tears fall
 As I grasp tightly
 On to my last petal
Because it’s all I have left
