Love Trinket
Love is like a fragile glass trinket.
It is beautiful and precious.
When held up to the light
it shines,
sending dozens of rainbow rays of light
around a room
in hundreds of different shapes.
But when dropped,
a thousand fragments
fly everywhere.
It can cut you,
leave you in pain.
You pick up what’s left of it
and try putting it back together.
Sometimes you succeed
and sometimes…
all you’re left with
is the pieces of a once beautiful thing
that is now broken
and the memories of how it looked…
before the incident.
