Jennifer
I feel so awkward when I am around you
If only I could make you smile more
In trying times I’ll be the one to help you
No questions asked, talking to you makes me all too happy.
Jet-black hair
A gorgeous smile, with teeth as white as snow
Some of the most beautiful blue eyes mine have ever seen
I try to look into them, but look away
Your stare is all too intimidating, but I could look into your eyes forever
A laugh to make me feel accomplished.
I see you only one part of the day, I look back periodically just to watch
You move in mysterious ways
With no emotion in the face of beauty
Writing erratically, writing hysterically
My eyes study you
But like a soft, silk book, bound by heavy metal chain
You are a book that’s bound shut
Unreadable by many, your emotions solemn
But later in the day, when we have a chance to text
In the minutes spent talking to you, are the best of my day
One day my hard work will pay off
Then you’ll see
Then you’ll notice me
