get over yourself

all those I love,
and those I've hated
those whose lives are unrelated
who can really respect the unknown?
not me, I know, nor them you know
or you, so read this and make notes
on what you can't change,
what you cannot undo.
what you cannot erase,
no matter what you do.
so cut all you want,
or hang by a noose.
OD on a drug,
but you still won't lose
yourself.
you still face that looking glass
just put your pain back on that shelf,
and get over yourself.
