An ode to love
I wish I could tell you how I felt,
The ball dropped at midnight.
The question hung in the air
But I’m sure the look on my face
Gave away the answer.
Of Course! Yes!
How many ways could I say it?
Smiles and laughter all around us
Glasses clinking, music blaring
Jeers of “SENIORS” and happy New Year!
But all that mattered were two glasses.
Two glasses
Two bodies
Two sets of eyes.
But breathing I tried no to burst,
Our fingers entwined
As I looked deep into your eyes.
Yes my dear.
Let’s start the New Year together.
