I used to be afraid
Ashamed
Scared to speak out
Life is a show
And I never took the stage
I still don't
Won't
Let my voice be heard
I am afraid
But it doesn't matter
I need only to prove
To myself
That I have seized the day
In fingers calloused
From the pen I use to write these words
No one
Can keep me down
Not now
Not ever
I stand strong
Forever
