I see the world
with a strange tint of orange
I'm staring out the
passenger side window
of my mothers Yukon and
I hear the quiet drone
Of my favorite Phoenix song
“the world looks beautiful”
I start to think
But then we pull up
to my destination
and its time to
take off my sunglasses
and see the world
in its true color
I just hope it doesn’t blind me.
