Autumn Fire

February 14, 2011
I walk the beaten path
amongst the scarlet leaves,
Twilight had begun descent,
upon the trees of fall.

Suddenly, flames sprung up,
engulfing the foilage,
Autumn fire burned,
Yet smoked refused to rise.

Dusk turned to night,
the sun had set,
the blaze was extinguished,
leaving the wood whole.
