All Is Lost
The lies you’ve told, have burned us all
With their bright bold flame
We heard the hiss of the fire, as the water was poured
But the embers, they still remain
We ask ourselves “why did you do this to us?”
We are not the ones to blame
You yell, you spit your words, and you cuss
But we see past the mask to your pain
The hourglass representing time spent with you
I wish to melt every grain
Toss it into the wildfire you have started
Until it is washed away with the rain
Out lives are slowly changing without you here
But my feelings are still the same
You have lost my respect, and I hope you regret
When instead of calling you “dad”
I address you by your first name
