Waiting For My Valentines

Valentines day is a holiday of candy hearts and hugs
helium balloons that die and stretch into deflated plastic mounds
cotton candy dresses the fade into the obscurities of a closet
Sucked of its meaning till it is a pile of withering rose petals and candied fantasies
This thing they call love, parading in sickening shades of red
This is the day we are supposed to feel giddy,to be bleeding from Cupid's arrow
But the truth is, what we have felt, what we feel now
Is not love.
Love isn't a display of affection,a crooned ballad of lust
Love isn't composed of blushes and giggles
Nor golden curls tossed around, hiding smirks and smiles
Never did it find itself written on the pattern of butterfly wings that dance around your young head
Love is meant to wait
to ripen as your heart learns itself
Don't rush to awaken what is meant to be yours
for the best love is already yours
He died for you and he embraced your sin pocked body in his arm
He cleansed you in his white robes,he bathed your heart in golden rays
Yet you try to fill yourself with green affection, amateur relationships
Wait
Wait, for one day you'll find His gift for you
But for now, stay in His golden bask
The best is yet to come, but no treasure map has a short cut
Every flower must bloom before it is picked
No true masterpiece can be painted by many artists
Learn your heart, before you can earn another's
Wait.
Wait with me.

Pretty good. So true. But there should be an apostrophe in Valentine's Day.
