Memories
Memories are forever in my soul,
Some are old some are new.
some make me laugh, some make me cry,
Memories are forever in my soul
A week on the beach with the white sand between my toes.
The salty smell of that cool ocean breeze.
The sand turns to quicksand and I start to sink,
Below all my problems, memories, and thoughts.
I go back to my childhood nightmares,
The feeling of being lost, forgotten forever.
Lost in Walmart without a friend in site,
My heart jumps out of my chest and I start to faint.
While I lay there I think back to when I was young,
When my brother took my stool and I was almost hung.
I wiggled and squirmed until there was a snap!
I just wanted to get away and feel content and complete.
I go back to when I was happy and loved.
When my Grandma was on earth and helped me when I felt unloved.
She was a saint so subtle and calm,
Memories are forever in my soul.
