of Acting Alone
the air is dark around us,
the spotlight flickers and dies
its colors whirl around us
chaos takes the sky
applaud;
silence.
laughter;
tears.
happiness;
sadness.
hopes;
fears.
the movie draws out;
play by play.
we cannot find
the answers here
so, my dear, we mustn't stay
the act goes on,
it stands, the stage
i still have voice,
the light won't fade
the only fact
that will not
[cannot]
change
is that
i will act
alone.
[where have you gone?
you're not here anymore.
i'm enduring alone.
oh, i see.
in audience, on the far right,
a spectator
an observer now,
not included in this play.
you know, now that you've left,
i might fall
or crumble, or be washed away
still waiting
standing
acting on this stage.]
