It was when you smiled,
when you laughed and cried.
It was when you sang across the house,
when you acted like a child.

It was when you cooked,
when you hummed while cleaning,
It was when you wore makeup,
when you cared how you looked.

It was when you tucked me in at night,
when you tenderly kissed my forehead,
It was when you showed affection,
when you pretended everything was alright.

It was when you loved me.
