It was the day
the day I have been waiting for
the day that I have dreamed about
and yes, it’s finally here
I can't wait to see his shining smile as he picks me up
and I can't wait to say the words
the words I have been longing to say
"Daddy, I love you"
and maybe when I say those words
he’ll never go back to that evil place
the one place he’s been for so long
too long
and maybe when he holds me he’ll never go back to that place
we call
war.
