No matter how fast you run, how far you go, you can never escape the fate that's befallen upon you.

And so I sat there;
Remembering the things I want to forget,
forgetting the things I want to remember.
Losing the things I want to find,
Exposing the things I want to keep hidden.
Ignoring the things that I need,
While craving the things I should wander away from.
Dying to think of something new,
studying the things I've already learned.
Forcibly pleading with natural skills,
breezing through the challenges.

And so i stand up;
forgetting the memories lingering yet,
erasing all the lost and hidden,
neglecting all dangers and sources of life,
leaving the over used books to see where life shall lead me with only time to tell,
grasping at talents floating around me.

And so I run;
off to make new memories,
to find new treasures,
to supply myself with new necessities,
to break the barrier my mind has formed,
picking up new traits to never again set down.

And so I live;
a new life of stories and keepsakes.
Of requirements and responsibilities.
Of stronger knowledge and qualities.
And so I begin.
Later

Emily, this a really great poem! I wrote many when I was your age also. There are so many expressions throughout it and it really focuses on today. With so many kids these days on the wrong path of life, I believe you have chosen the right direction to go.
