Beneath the Surface

Don't be an image of a lake,
still and silent.
An impression of beauty, yes...
But beneath the surface is for what I strive.
Harboring lives, for millions of creatures....
Supplying water for those who need it's strength
that which is worthy of looking like a lake is not worthy at all,
rather that which is like a lake,
the ability to support precious life,
now that,
leaves a mark.
