All afternoon I listened
Listened to your bragging and whining
To all the stuff you had to say
But did you ever once listen to what I had to say
Ever once asked me if I was okay
No I didn't think so you were to busy for yourself
Not one day dedicated to me
And now you come and ask me why i changed
Why I'm not the same little girl
I changed because of you
All the years of pain and fear
Have now gone away
But in my head and mind are still there

The author's comments:
I hear my friends talk about how their parent's don't listen to them and sometimes I feel no one pays attention to my opinion, so this poem was inspired by personal expierences. Many teenagers might relate to it because most of the time our voices are masked by our elders.
