Life is but a book just waiting to be filled, you make your own story

Why is it that I didn’t notice till now?
Was it my denial that pushed away the thoughts?
The fear making me hold tight?
Your voice is so far off
Only an echo in this dark world you put me in
Your warmth no longer there
I shiver from the cold you have caused
The only scent in this empty world is ash
My memories the only warmth I have as I slowly burn each one
As I raise my head to the moonless sky
I start to really wonder why
What did I do to deserve being pushed away?
Why did we suddenly become so distant?
Why didn’t we try harder to stay?
There are so many questions to ask but you’re so far away
And when we meet I forget what to say
So I just sit and wonder why
In the winter land you’ve made for me
Staring at the endless span of the moonless sky
