I've violently wondered the cold shock of attention
And the brisk hard slap of disappointment
Both are not strangers in my mind or soul
The jungle of our decisions attack at all hours
Disappointment never sleeps
he lurks in the darkest alley in the grimmest city in the grimmest city
You never see him till he hits you,
Hard and quickly striking you when you least expect.
His punches then come in brutalizing swiftness hurting every fiber of your being
Leaving no mark
Just the scars on your heart

Pulling and tugging
Seizing your ideas and creating his own.

Attention goes for your throat
Trying to breathe, to think, you find your self slipping into a dark delusion
