New Room

January 31, 2011
The voices were raised, this was my cue; time to escape. I walked down the hall the striped walls holding many memories. Instead of taking a left I went the right.

My new room.

The sunlight was pouring in. I smiled at my new bed. The bare walls remained the same despite my mom’s urges to “Make it happy; to make it me.” I opened all the drawers nonchalantly; lying down on the clean wooden floor, soaking in the sunlight and emptiness. I love a naked room; I love the possibilities, the hope, and the dreams. Making it “my own” would take way all the hope, dreams and what-ifs; the excitement would be over. I laid on the floor their voices forgotten, breathing the sweet Ohio air.
