Quasimodo (Silence)
He is my Esmeralda
Dancing in the square.
Open admiration
Everyone but I.
She approaches him
And he is undone
How can he not?
She is perfect.
She will leave
He at her side
Both of them
Radiate.
I am Quasimodo
Carved into stone
My job is
To ring the bells.
Who would want me?
Ugly, disfigured?
I have never left
Nor will I ever.
As everyone leaves
Unaware of me
I am content
Watching from the shadows.
What can I do?
I am but Quasimodo
And I keep myself
In silence.
