Home is
Home
 Home is where
The sun comes out of hiding
 The birds sing
 You can snooze All Morning
 Uninterrupted
 Where you can
 Stroll around
 Wearing your “pajamas”
 Home is where
 Your heart is left
 Even when you aren’t present
 Home is where
 You can chortle and snort
 Really loud
 And not a soul cares
 Home is where
 Your family is
 Or if not family
 Friends
 Home is where you can
 Create a pigsty
 And might not bother
 To clean it up
 Right up until you realize
 You’re having company
 Home is where
 You are safe
 Joyous
 Passionate
 Home is where
Your heart beats a steady drum
 The soft whisper of
 “I love you”
It might not be to a
 Husband
 Wife
 Or child
 But maybe
 To a dog
 Or cat
 Or even your fish Goldie
 Home is where you
 Shut your eyes
 To the darkened silence
 You’re safe
