Snowfall
So small and fragile
drifting down
From heaven, so high, so far above
Glistening in the shadows of moonlight,
Blanketing cornfields in a layer of
Pillowy down
So silent, a mere whisper, in the dark
Of this still and dreamy night
Remaining unseen, untouched, unscathed
‘Til morning brings its first, pale light
Dawn breaks over the gently rolling plains
The sun ascends through a sky alight with
Bright fiery hues
Illuminating, at last, for all the world to see
A new world, a peaceful world,
Imbued with the sweet essence of
Snow
