I wanna go back to simpler times

When we were whole and had no crimes.

When Mom and Dad were both here.

Bruises were the only things that caused tears.

 

When all my friends could be trusted

And no spots needed to be dusted.

When the future was a distant thing

I was free and my heart could sing.

 

Back to the times I needed a shoulder

Didn’t have to think about getting older.

When all my fears were sung away

With sweet duck songs everyday.

 

I wanna go back to the first grade

When I had everything made.

When I had undivided love

And words were worse than the shove.
