"champignon"

oh mushroom
sacred guardian of the swampy wetlands
your caring umbrella
sheltering the unprotected smurfs
their tiny blue bodies knitted together around your trunk
on those cold rainy days.
oh UFO of the ground
so easily misunderstood
your never wavering courage to live
is what inspires us all.
oh we humans will seek you out
search to destroy you
but here you are
still sprouting
from the habitual mud and weeds
you don't give up my friend
my love
you do not turn away and run from attack of others
the constant harassment and tyranny
instead
you open your loving canopy
embracing those who will allow it
thank you.

i wanted to write a sort of silly and fun poem that could still hold meaning and truth. a sprouting mushroom in my front yard inspired me. :)
