Winter
Winter skies cover any light that is to be seen,
cool grays and whites coat the landscape.
Snow seems to glow in the dim lighting,
Sparkling when any light does hit it.
So cold.
So long.
Trees stand naked,
And blanketed with cold.
Looking almost menacing
After dark.
Hands turn purple.
Faces go numb.
Breath dissipates in a puff of mist.
Snow crunches underneath heavy footsteps.
The air should feel oppressive,
But it almost shines.
Makes me feel so light.
In this land of winter.
