Goodbye
you have betrayed me
after being my sanctuary
for far too long
give him back to me
release him from your clutches
I know that he is within you
here I stand on your shore
oblivious to the storm around me
hair whipping around my face,
hands limp at my sides,
longing to reach for him
I open my mouth
and let a single,
inaudible breath escape
my whisper rolls
over the waves
slowly drifting out to sea
suddenly, it's a scream,
a siren for him to find me
that one word
that he nor I
ever uttered
we were afraid to
afraid of the truth to it
but I let it pass my lips now
over and over again
yearning for him to come back
over and over again
