Curiosity Awaits

Sitting upon one set wave,
Looking about the horizon,
I remember when my imagination got the best of me,
Pretending with every swish and every clash,
I would float above the water.

Little fish, and bigger sharks; they would peer from under the surface,
I want to swim with the dolphins,
And sit with the turtles,
I want to grab a hand full of sand, just to watch it fall,
And let my problems go with it.

Mist sprinkles my face,
My eyes burn with intensity,
I draw a mental picture,
Imagination is in flight.

I've stopped falling for those I know won't catch me,
I stopped relying on the pointless,
I focus on the now,
I rely on the future.

What's something I love, you ask,
Happiness,
Surround yourself,
Protect yourself.

Never letting a soul know my secrets,
I pretend I've got nothing to hide,
When a blanket of secrets are actually isolating me,
I whisper my mystery,
The ocean listens,
I am satisfied.

Sitting upon one set wave,
Looking about the horizon,
I remember when my imagination got the best of me.
