As the Sun Sets
As the sun sets I lose sight of the hilly scenery,
A chill shivers down my spine with the cold, crisp air settling,
I can't help the empty feeling in the pit of my stomach,
Nor the aching in this still chest.
 The sun settles down completely,
 Caught in only dim moonlight,
A blueish overcast over the town,
 Such a quiet, lonely time,
Not even a cricket heard in the distance.
Like a way of mocking all the scars.
I take one last glance around the cold, chilled land,
 As I close my eyes,
And lay back in this grave for good.
