Pressure
why does everything have to be a competition?
I wish there could be one day
Where you could just sit back and relax
And not have to worry about a thing.
You constantly have to be on your toes
ready to think of anything
that will allow you to out do the rest.
Why can't people just
Except you for who you are?
Why do people have to expect
So much out of you?
Then not even notice your effort
And how hard you are trying to impress them.
Why do you always feel
Like you are not good enough
And don't meet anybody's standards,
even though you know you are trying your best.
I just wish life wasn't so competitive,
And instead involved a lot my fun.
I'm always under pressure,
Striving to be number one
In order to not let everyone down.
Why can't people just except me for me
Because I can't do much better than that.
