I feel the ground pushing up on my shoes
with every step into the field
tall grass surrounds me
I hold out my hands
to feel the tips of the grass on my fingers
fluffy clouds float above me
as white as snow against a baby blue sky
In front of me, an oak tree
I take my time walking toward it
I want the moment to last
I feel the breeze gentle on my skin
the grass grows delicately
the leaves reach out greeting me
with every step
I wonder how a place so simple
can be so beautiful
the sound of nature is peaceful
I feel free from all burdens
This is my escape
