Waking up, I lie in a hospital bed
My body is numb and cold
I can’t feel my legs
Where are they, what’s happened to me
I can remember now
The shock of the bomb
Landing ten yards away

Bomb goes off
My body flung into the air
At first there is no pain
But pain does come after
Looking down in a pool of blood
My legs scattered into piles of debris
Now back home
Am I really awake
There is no war
But there is much pain after
