Rekindle the Flame
Our fire once burned,
Down to our abyssal cores.
I was never concerned,
Believing I would forever be yours.
I would’ve given my life
If it meant you would survive.
We kept truckin’ through strife;
Hand-in-hand we could thrive.
My phone must be defective
It won’t show that you called
Our fire became subjective
Numerous times I have bawled.
Our flame is now barely flickering,
Sweetie, tell me you have some wood!
It’s about time we end the bickering
Or should we water the flame for good?
You could still have a chance
To show me our passion still exists
Invite me to restoke the open fire
And I will monitor your persists,
Being cautious of the flame’s expire.
Baby, we could add gasoline
Or some never –ending fuel.
I still want be your shadow,
Way after high school.
