Less Than Three
She texted him saying that she didn’t know who he was anymore,
Says that he has changed all the way down to his core,
You see the last few weeks he had gone through some changes,
It seemed he was done with this life’s chapter and it’s pages,
He wanted something more reliable in his life,
Something more consistent like that of a future wife,
Someone who wanted to see him succeed,
Not someone who took pleasure in seeing him bleed,
So he looked at the text and stumbled at the digits,
Tick-tock tick-tock seconds turn to minutes,
There was nothing he could respond with,
This time he would have to plead the fifth,
No response for the girl who broke his heart,
It appears that in time they had grown apart,
So he deleted the text and decided to move on,
Remembering always the girl who used him like a pawn.
