Dustland under sky
A crimson sky
A fairytale sky
The kind where the prince
The beautiful princess
The valiant steed
Ride off into that fairytale sky

Dustland does not birth princes
Nor princess nor stallion
 but Farmers and donkeys
And brittle corn husks
And hopeful skies
Impassable
That unreachable sky

Dustland under sky
An impossible sky
A fairytale sky
A place for a fantasy
Where none will exist
Whence none can live
That dustland sky

I thought of this after seeing a gorgeous sunset while driving on the Iowa interstate.
