When you touch me.

January 9, 2011
When you touch me, I can't breathe.
It's like the ground below me starts to spin
and everything becomes irrelevant. I stop
thinking about everything else that matters,
because when you touch me, nothing else matters
but the goosebumps that rise upon my skin.

When you touch me, I close my eyes, hoping
that I can remember your warm hands caressing
every inch of my body forever. Behind my dark
eyelids, I see your beautiful smile and those eyes
that stare at me even when I beg you not to.

When you touch me, the little hairs rise on my arms
as I slide closer beneath your arms. I harshly inhale,
basking in your sweet scent that stains my pillows
well throughout the next morning when the sun
hints my lightly fogged windows and on to your face.

When you touch me, I shiver and gently place my lips
against yours, wishing I could stop time and we could
be here forever. My heart flutters as the butterflies
in my stomach become unbearable. I lay awake, watching
the slow and steady motion that your hand makes.

When you touch me, I feel unbelievably safe laying
there beside you.
When you touch me, I never want you to stop.
When you touch me with every single movement,
i fall more and more undeniably in love with you.
